Free porches and free boxes
These depend on how clean these places are maintained. Please be conscientious, do not create mess or dump trash. Many free porches unfortunately get dismantled because of some people's carelessness (remember the Share-It Square, and if you have lived in Portland long enough, People's Food Co-op). This list only includes semi-permanent and permanent standing free boxes and free porches, not cardboard boxes on sidewalks that may show up randomly (check out Southeast Clinton Street neighborhood greenway, though). The Garfield House, 4011 NE Garfield Avenue at Shaver Street (porch)- 2333 SE Taylor Street (a covered cob bench)
- The Eggplant House in Woodlawn on NE Oneonta Street near the Bryant Street bridge (a nicely-built freebox with a door, accessible easily from sidewalk.)
The Skill Share Studio, 3969 NE Rodney Avenue (a sidewalk booth)

Street libraries
Another new development that makes Portland great, small street libraries are getting set up in many residential areas. (Many of these are part of the Little Free Libraries network.)
